Dear Editor: Rubbing It In Our Face

President Biden is rubbing it in our face.

According to an article in U.S. News & World Report, April 26, 2024, the appointment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as the head of a new safety board to advise and protect us from the dangers of Artificial Intelligence, AI, would be laughable – if it wasn't so idiotic!

Remember, this is the same dude who tells us nearly every day "The border is secure."

He's also the bumbling putz who was recently impeached by the House of Representatives for being totally incompetent at his job.

Unfortunately, Senate leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), didn't even bother to bring the matter to vote. Which, gives a person a pretty good idea of the intentions of that outfit.

Now, Mayorkas is supposed to be some kind of expert on saving us from the bad guys trying to steal our AI secrets?

As a result, it appears Joe is not only satisfied with Alejandro's performance on border issues, but now wishes to apply his limited skills and expertise in resolving anticipated AI difficulties.

Two semi-conscious brains conferring on the risks of Artificial Intelligence. What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, I don't know. How about the continued erosion of the protection of our society under the guidance of an administration that doesn't appear to have a clue about anything?

Except spending money we don't have, aborting unborn babies, believing boys in girls' sports is a good idea, and desperately attempting to jail a former president who is leading in the polls for re-election.

We can start with those four examples. Everything else would be way too complicated for Joe and his gang to figure out. They'd blow a head gasket if they tried.

Especially, something like Artificial Intelligence – which sounds more like a Democratic admission of a plea for help, since their current intelligence isn't working very well. Obviously.

That's par for the course. If there's any way a topic of concern can be thoroughly botched, then Joe and Alejandro are the guys to do it.

Just ask Joe's former boss, Barack Obama. Other than Joe filling a Constitutionally required government position, what other purpose did he serve? It certainly wasn't because of his mediocre performance in the Senate, and profound ability to mess things up.

Much like Kamala's current role as VP. Due to her abundance of ineptitude, not even her own party wants her to advance to the presidency. No matter how bad things get.

Consequently, Dems will continue to prop-up Joe in every way they can. Regardless of his incoherence and confusion, Kamala would be worse.

Mayorkas being in charge of some kind of Artificial Intelligence conference is stretching the limits of believability. Wrecking the nation's borders is one thing, then continually denying it is bad enough, but now for him to be manager of a commission composed of representatives of some of our largest technology companies is kind of like expecting Hunter Biden to fairly govern an investigation into the contents of his laptop computer, delinquent tax returns, and firearms violations.

We already know the results: The Russians did it. Or, as an alternative: China did it. Or, Sponge Bob did it. Or, the TV Pillow Man did it. Or, someone in the middle of Kansas must have done it.

The entire AI board could meet, form a dozen committees, discuss the issue, break for lunch, reach a decision, and dismiss before afternoon Happy Hour, and no one would notice.

Including, Joe.

Afterword, we might hear Alejandro proclaim during a televised press announcement "It is the unanimous opinion of this esteemed panel that the greatest threat to the nation's Artificial Intelligence does not emanate from the White House. Although, that seems the likely source. Rather, from the perpetual suspect in everything nefarious currently going on in the world: None other than Donald John Trump." (Pause for applause. Wave. Exit stage left. Turn and follow the yellow footprints. If you don't see the footprints, turn around and try your other left.)

In other words, "It's Trump's fault!" Which might evolve into another DOJ indictment of some sort.

As far as exiting the stage is concerned, if Alejandro and Joe have difficulty reading and understanding the teleprompter, I'm sure there are sufficient numbers of staff to assist.

After all, it wouldn't be their first time.

The silliness marches on. At least, until Nov. 5.
