Grant County Art Guild and the Red Dot Weekend

GCArtGuild RSPhoto: The historic Hearst Church welcomes visitors to the Grant County Art Guild's Pinos Altos Art Gallery and the large array of art found within.

The Grant County Art Guild is participating in the Red Dot weekend with their own very special Red Dot Art Show featuring an exhibit of local artists' and fine crafters' work, and with a few twists to make it unique! For the first of the two open weekends, Friday, October 9, through the Columbus Day holiday, Monday, October 12, the Pinos Altos Art Gallery will have the welcome mat out and ask those visiting the gallery to critique the work of our many member artists and crafters and cast votes for their favorites. All ribbons and cash prizes will be given to the artists and crafters our patrons judge to be their favorites. Friday, October 9, through Monday, October 12, votes will be counted and on Friday, October 16, the ribbons will be hung and winners will be announced. A perfect opportunity to cast your votes, visit with the artists and enjoy some refreshments, will be at the reception from 2 till 5 on Saturday, October 10.

October 16 through 18 is the last weekend of the show and another opportunity for the Guild to say thank you to all of those who have supported the Guild's artists and crafters throughout the years. Saturday, October 17, will be Locals Appreciation Day with our Red Dot Sale in full swing! Watch for the red dots on the arts and crafts and you can catch mark-downs throughout the gallery. Light refreshments will be available while you browse.

The Grant County Art Guild is a nonprofit organization that brings together local artists and crafters to show their work and encourage art education for members, other artists and area youth. The Pinos Altos Art Gallery, 14 Golden Avenue, is located in the historic Hearst Church. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and major holidays through October 18. Browsers, buyers and history buffs are welcomed and entry is always free.
