Independence Day celebrations

At 8 a.m. the Silver City Kiwanis Club will begin serving a breakfast. At 11 the Kiwanis Club will begin serving a brisket lunch. All proceeds benefit the community and kid's activities
At 10 a.m., the annual Fourth of July Parade starts near Gough Park and ends at Gough Park, traveling south on Pope Street, with a short jag eastward on College to south on Bullard Street, east on Broadway and north on Hudson westward back to the park on 13th Street.
Vendors and organizations will be set up in the park for food, for information and for entertainment.
The fireworks display, sponsored by First American Bank and the town of Silver City, which will be set up on the hill behind the Grant County Administration Center, will begin when it gets dark enough.
And don't forget the Ice Cream Social after the parade until 4 p.m. at the Silver City Museum, 312 W. Broadway.
