NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE EL PASO TX/SANTA TERESA NM

...NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINS AND FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS WEST TEXAS AND SOUTHERN NEW
MEXICO THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY...

.AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO PULL COPIOUS
AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE IN THE AREA TODAY. THIS MOISTURE WILL COMBINE
WITH THE STORM SYSTEM TO PRODUCE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
SOME WITH AREAS OF HEAVY RAINFALL. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL EXCEED
ONE AND A HALF INCHES OVER A FEW LOCATIONS RESULTING IN FLASH
FLOODING.

SUNLAND PARK...OROGRANDE...WHITE SANDS RANGE HEADQUARTERS...
CHAPARRAL...DOWNTOWN...WEST EL PASO...UPPER VALLEY...FORT BLISS...

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EL PASO TX/SANTA TERESA HAS
ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NM AND TX...INCLUDING THE
  FOLLOWING AREAS...IN NM...LOWLANDS OF THE BOOTHEEL...SOUTHERN
  DONA ANA COUNTY/MESILLA VALLEY...SOUTHERN TULAROSA BASIN...
  SOUTHWEST DESERT/MIMBRES BASIN AND UPLANDS OF THE BOOTHEEL. IN
  TX...EASTERN/CENTRAL EL PASO COUNTY AND WESTERN EL PASO
  COUNTY.

* THROUGH LATE TONIGHT

* AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO PULL COPIOUS
  AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE IN THE AREA THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY. THIS
  MOISTURE WILL COMBINE WITH THE STORM SYSTEM TO PRODUCE NUMEROUS
  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SOME WITH AREAS OF HEAVY RAINFALL.
  RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL EXCEED ONE AND A HALF INCHES OVER A FEW
  LOCATIONS RESULTING IN FLASH FLOODING.

* IMPACTS MAY INCLUDE: FLOODING OF AREA ROADS...ESPECIALLY AT LOW WATER
  CROSSINGS AND ISOLATED INSTANCES OF RESIDENTIAL FLOODING NEAR ARROYOS.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
