Red Hot Children's Fiesta 2013 "Out of This World"

The Grant County Community Health Council hosted its annual Red Hot Children's Fiesta, with a theme of "Out of This World." More than 40 vendor booths had activities for the kids, including an astronaut training obstacle course, a string maze, and a telescope with a special filter set up by the Silver City Astronomical Society to allow people to see the sun without eye damage. The sun, however, did not cooperate for most of the event.

At the end, the Monsoon Puppet Parade began at the festival, made its way to the Silver City Museum, and then to downtown Silver City.

(Editor's Note: Photos of the parade will be forthcoming)
