Sheriff's Department investigating death

(Silver City, NM)—On March 24, 2014 at approximately 4:49 pm, deputies with the Grant County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the area of Mahogany Street in Silver City, NM in reference to a female subject who was unresponsive and not breathing.

On deputies arrival it was found that Cassy Farrington (23) was deceased. The body was taken to the Office of the Medical Investigator for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

At this time the Sheriff's Office is investigating this matter and will release further information as it becomes available. Sheriff Raul Villanueva is asking anyone with information about this incident to please contact the Sheriff's Office at 575-574-0100 or Central Dispatch at 575-388-8840. Further details will be released at a later time.
