Pino Fire Information

Start Location: #1 Pino Road, west of Rio Grande between Socorro/Valencia County Line and Highway 346, closer to county line.

Cause of Fire: human, under investigation
Area Vegetation: grass, brush, salt cedar
Acres Burned: Estimated at 10 to 20 acres
Ownership(s): Private

Structures Threatened: 5 to 6 residences
Structures Burned: none reported
Evacuations (Y or N & #): none reported

Situation: Fire is burning in a salt cedar thicket, west-northwest of the Rio Grande. Valencia County, Socorro County and agency resources are on scene or responding. Fire is reported to be moving east, toward river. Agricultural fields are located to the north, west and east. Two firefighters have received very minor burn injuries.
