Update from the Executive Director

I'm loving this colder weather—still sunny in the day, but cool at night. How great is that?

Speaking of colder, wetter weather, the first thing I should tell you is that I am moving back to Ireland in the spring. Consequently, the Executive Director position here at Grant County Community Foundation is open for applications. Please see information below.

I'm so very happy to announce that the Alex Olsen & Martyn Pearson Memorial Fund, less than a year after it was started, is just about to reach $100,000. That means that we can "endow" the fund, making it a forever fund that will live here at the Community Foundation in their name in perpetuity, and grants will be awarded each year from the interest earned. The fund will continue to grow with donations from friends and family of Alex & Martyn, which means the grants will grow, too. I want to particularly thank the Patrina Foundation in New York for providing a challenge grant, which made all the difference to our fundraising efforts. If anyone would like to donate to build the fund further, please click hereor pop in to see us in our offices at 1106 N Pope Street.

We will host an Executive Director Roundtable on Thursday, 30 November, where nonprofit leaders will come together, share expertise, and let us know how best to support them in the coming year. We're pretty close to full, but could maybe fit in one or two more leaders this month, should they be interested and let us know immediately. We hope to do this every month or two going forward, and expect it will prove an excellent opportunity to support our amazing nonprofits, and help them support one another.

We will be hosting our Grant County Community Foundation Holiday Party on Friday 15 December 2023 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in our offices at 1106 N Pope Street. Everyone is welcome, and we will have refreshments and munchies (most likely, some of Mick's fabulous Charcuterie Boards!). For those of you who have been to our Holiday Parties in the past, you'll know they're great fun! and it's a way to say Thank You to our wonderful community as we celebrate the holidays and prepare for the New Year. Don't forget that we have art by three local artists at our offices that you can enjoy—and even purchase, if you wish—while you're enjoying the Holiday Party.

See you at the Holiday Party, or any time you'd like to pop in and say hi to us in our offices at 1106 N Pope Street (the old Shamrock station opposite HMS).
