POSITION TITLE:              Facility and Grounds Maintenance Superintendent

DIVISION:                       Public Works 

REPORTS TO:                   General Service Director

CLASSIFICATION:            At-Will/ Exempt Position / Exempt from Overtime & Bargaining Unit                                                                                                          

SALARY RANGE:              Min:  $49,790             Mid:  $62,238             Max: $74,686

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the General Services Director, provides leadership, management, organization, direction, and supervision of daily operation and coordination of the activities of the Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Department. Provides clean, safe, efficient, attractive, environmentally healthy and structurally sound facilities that offer employees, citizens, tax payers, and visitors alike the best possible environment for productive work and the conduct of County business. Demonstrates strong ethical, professional and service oriented leadership. Responsible for the training, performance management, and morale of the employees of the Department. Exercises independent judgement and discretion; administers Departmental budget; and develops comprehensive plans to serve the current and future needs of the County for building maintenance, replacement, renewal and improvement.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

1)High School diploma or GED

2)At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in building maintenance, including at least three years of significant administrative and management experience; advanced skills/certifications in the repair and maintenance of building mechanical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates that the candidate can successfully discharge the duties of the position.

3)Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License.4)Successful candidate will be required to pass a drug and alcohol test, background check, driver's license record check and complete a medical exam.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1)Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

2)Bachelor's degree in related field is a plus

3)Current General Builders License (GB98) is a plus
