Narrative:

On Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:42 AM officers of the Silver City Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Leslie Rd in reference to a disturbance complaint. While officers were on scene, they were notified by Gila Regional Medical Center that there was a 17-year-old female victim in the emergency room suffering from a stab wound. The victim said it happened in the 2700 Block of Leslie Rd.

During their investigation, officers were able to determine the victim and Crystal Ibarra (suspect) had gotten into a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, the victim received a stab wound to her left side. The victim stated she did not see what she was stabbed with.

A witness told the officers he saw the suspect stab the victim with a knife, which had a brown handle. The witness said the suspect then threw the knife on the ground. The witness also stated that he retrieved the knife and placed the knife in the floorboard of the victim's car. The witness then drove the victim to the hospital.

The victim was flown to an El Paso Hospital for treatment.

Crystal Ibarra was arrested on a warrant, charging her with Aggravated Battery at about 5:38pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011, while being driven out of town. Crystal Ibarra is being held at the Grant County Detention Center under a $10,000.00 bond.

The Silver City Police Department is continuing the investigation into this incident and is asking anyone with information to please call the department at (575) 538-3724.
