(Silver City, NM)-On    October 9,2011 at approximately 0410hrs, deputies with the Grant County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 200 block of Chalcocite in Tyrone, NM in reference to a robbery that had just taken place. The victim at the residence told central dispatch he woke up to find someone in his home stealing from him. While the deputies were en-route, dispatch advised them of a white Chevrolet pick-up that was seen leaving the area a short time later after the incident. A second caller revealed the white truck had stopped in front of their home on Bornite and turned the lights off. A short time later the truck left the area towards Hwy 90.

Deputies did make contact with a white truck fitting the description ofthe vehicle that had just left from Tyrone. The deputies with the assistance of the Silver City Police Department did conduct a traffic stop on this vehicle on Hwy 90. During the investigation it was determined the subjects in the vehicle were in fact the subjects that were just involved in the robbery on Chalcocite. The suspects were identified as Clayton Hunte and Tanner Franco. Both suspects were arrested and charged with Burglary and Larceny. The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the possibility of other victims in the Tyrone area that may have had items taken from their vehicles that night. If you feel you may have had some items stolen from you that night please contact the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Raul Villanueva credited the apprehension to the quick response of his deputies. He said, "I am very pleased that we were able to apprehend these subjects in a quick and timely manner and would also like to thank the Silver City Police Department for their assistance. "
