Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument -- Centennial Celebration

As part of the National Park Service Centennial Celebration, Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is proud to announce a series of special Centennial Events.

All entrance fees will be waived at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument from Thursday August 25 through Sunday August 28.

Special Centennial Events will take place at the Cliff Dwellings on Thursday August 25, the 100th birthday of the National Park Service. On Saturday August 27 from 10 AM to 2 PM a "Centennial Fair" will be held at Gough Park in Silver City to help the people of Grant County to celebrate this important and fun milestone.

At the monument on Thursday special interactive and fun events will take place. These will include an Atal Atal Throw, Mimbres Bowl Painting, Animal Olympics, and a token search (with prizes) along the Cliff Dwellings Trail.

In Silver City on Saturday we will be joined by many of our friends and partner organizations. Smokey Bear and a wildland fire crew (with firetruck) will represent the United States Forest Service. Grant County Search and Rescue and the Gila Amateur Radio Society will have interactive equipment displays. The Mimbres Cultural Center will present activities related to our Native American history and culture. There will also be a free raffle with National Park Service Centennial Prizes!

Both the Thursday and Saturday events will include from Noon to 1, "Coffee with the Superintendent," an opportunity to ask the Superintendent of Gila Cliff Dwellings questions about the monument, the NPS Centennial, Park Service careers or hiring, or anything else. Other activities will include a "Find Your Park" selfie station, "stump the ranger" and other fun for all ages. Please take these chances to "Find Your Park" either by coming out to the Cliff Dwellings or joining us and our friends at Gough Park in Silver City on Saturday as we celebrate 100 years of Your National Park Service.
