Garden Planning Workshop - March 8 and 9 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
- Plan to plant the right crops at the right time this year.
- Draw simple plans in the class to get you started with your spring garden using the concepts taught during the workshop.
Soil Health - March 15 and 16 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
- Learn how to convert dirt to soil and how plants and soil interact
to improve soil health. - Evaluate soil samples using the different areas of the property adjacent to Future Forge or bring your own soil sample. We will discuss composting, the carbon-cycle, and microorganisms.
Growing in Spring - March 22 and 23 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
- Learn about the plant families that grow in cool weather - and why
to plant them now! - Learn what to plant before and after the last frost.
- How to prepare your soil and direct-sow seeds into the garden.
- Take some seeds from the Southwest New Mexico Seed Library to start in your garden.
