What to Look Forward to!

Join Silver City MainStreet Project for Story Time and learn about how the passionate Amanda Burke of JBR Smoothie N Juice Bar became a Kick-Ass Entrepreneur! You won’t want to miss this inspirational story on August 9! Come learn about this Silver City native, whose experiences range from a track coach, a Montessori school and senior citizens’ center head cook, a Hawaiian shaved ice shack owner, and more. Her newest venture JBR Smoothies N Juice Bar on Broadway taps into what inspires her most - nourishing the bodies and souls of her customers and in turn encouraging them to reach for what most inspires and motivates them. JBR - named for her three children - hits a deeper note for Amanda too. Five years ago, just before Halloween, she had a stroke - a side effect of open heart surgery she’d had earlier that year. Not only did Amanda have to relearn how to read and write, the experience was the catalyst for her to delve deeper into what matters most to her - nourishing and caring for her body so that she can fully live. She learned that her body is worthy and deserving of nourishment and care and that your body is too. Furthering her knowledge of food as medicine, she started writing recipes for juice blends, smoothies, and shakes.

Join us at the Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery Silver City Taproom on Wednesday, August 9, for the chance to hear more of the moving story of Amanda’s entrepreneur journey! This month we are starting a half hour later than usual. Plan to arrive at 6:00 PM to order food and drinks and to schmooze with new and old friends before we kick-off Story Time at 6:30 PM. Want to get a head start on ordering? We will be able to order at the bar or regular tables while we wait for the back room to be available to us at 6:00 PM.

We look forward to seeing you there!
