Join us February 1st for an evening with Sunny War & Chris Pierce, two remarkable musicians recognized for their soulful performances, exceptional storytelling, and vision for change. 

 Sunny War, born Sydney Lyndella Ward, is an American singer-songwriter known for her unique blend of blues, folk, and punk music. Growing up in Los Angeles, she navigated a challenging life, experiencing homelessness as a teenager. Despite the hardships, Sunny found solace in music and began busking on the streets, honing her skills as a self-taught guitarist. She caught the attention of artists like Keb’ Mo’ and collaborated with Ani DiFranco and Madeleine Peyroux. Her raw, honest lyrics and soulful performances reflect her resilience and passion for creating positive change through music. 

 Chris Pierce, a seasoned artist hailing from Southern California, has an impressive repertoire encompassing R&B, soul, and blues genres. His journey in music began at an early age, and he later honed his craft while attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Throughout his career, Chris has had the privilege of opening for and sharing the stage with some of the industry’s biggest names, from legends like Al Green, B.B. King, and Seal. His songs have been featured in popular TV shows and films, further solidifying his reputation as a distinguished artist with a wide-reaching appeal. Notably, Chris’s single “We Can Always Come Back To This” was prominently featured in the hit TV series “This Is Us,” propelling him to even greater recognition and acclaim. Chris’s dedication to making a positive impact extends beyond his music, as he actively supports various social and environmental causes.
