Four Active-Duty U.S. Service Members, Three U.S. Military Spouses to be Sworn In as American Citizens

(SANTA FE, NM)—Four active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces and three military spouses will be sworn in as American citizens at a special Citizenship Ceremony in Santa Fe on October 30 at 1pm at the New Mexico National Guard/Bataan Military Museum.

The museum is located at 1050 Old Pecos Trail (between East Coronado and East Barcelona Roads).

Three of the service members and one of the spouses are originally from the Philippines. The fourth service member is originally from Mexico. One military spouse is from Peru; the other is from Lithuania.

The public is invited to witness this special ceremony, which is presented by the New Mexico division of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Office.

New Mexico Department of Veterans' Services Secretary Timothy Hale is scheduled join USCIS officials in welcoming the new citizens and presenting them with a special message from Governor Susana Martinez.

Members of the U.S. armed forces and their dependents (spouses and children) may be eligible for citizenship, to include expedited and overseas processing, under special provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Spouses of U.S. citizen members of the U.S. armed forces who are (or will be) deployed may be eligible for expedited naturalization or for overseas processing.
