The Patterson Fire is burning on private land east of Roswell, NM and west of Bottomless Lakes State Park. The fire is currently threatening structures and burning on both sides of the Pecos river in Chaves County. One home has been evacuated at this time. The fire is estimated at 150 acres and 0% contained. Additional resources have been called in due to high winds pushing the fire through dry grass and brush. Lightning is believed to have started the fire last night (05/16) around 7:00 p.m. Additional information will be forthcoming.
