Job Training Albuquerque to offer limited scholarships.

Albuquerque, NM - Pivotal New Mexico – a 501c3 organization – is opening registration for its virtual grant writing training program, Get the Grant, scheduled for Wednesday, August 18 – Friday, August 20, 2021. This is a critical time for New Mexico organizations. The federal government and national philanthropic organizations are offering increased grant opportunities. Billions are being distributed through the state and directly through federal departments and agencies. Get the Grant is designed to help organizations access these funds.

Unique this year, Job Training Albuquerque is offering scholarships to this workshop for a limited number of small (fewer than 500 employees) nonprofit organizations based in Albuquerque.

Get the Grant is a three-day, virtual training program open to grant writers across New Mexico at any stage of their career.

The customized program helps attendees feel confident in their grant applications through sessions focused on identifying fitting grant opportunities, writing project narratives and budgets, and a concluding funders panel to identify the interests of some of New Mexico’s top funders.

“These national resources can be transformative for communities throughout New Mexico, but many organizations do not have the capacity or experience to feel ready for federal grants,” said Terry Brunner, executive director, Pivotal New Mexico. “Through our Get the Grant workshop, we are training grant writers at varying levels of experience and sizes of organizations to develop successful projects, identify the best grant opportunities, and write effective applications. Get the Grant moves grant applications from ‘applied’ to ‘awarded.’”

Registration includes the training, digital grant seeking workbook, digital copy of Grant Writing for Dummies and a year-long subscription to Pivotal NM’s Cooperative Network (valued at $500). General registration costs $550 until late registration begins August 14 at $750. Additional discounts are offered for Pivotal New Mexico’s Cooperative Network members.

Previous Get the Grant attendees have praised the program, calling it “the best grant writing workshop.” The program is annual, however, it was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.
