Today we celebrate the birth of America and pay tribute to the precious freedom that forms the foundation of our Republic.
On July 4th, 1776, our founding fathers, reeling from a victorious breakaway from Great Britain, gathered together to sign the Declaration of Independence.
Within this document, the United States would establish a government built on equality, life, liberty, and securing the unalienable rights endowed to us by our Creator. These principles made America strong, powerful, and a light unto the world.
As we watch fireworks tonight, may we appreciate the brave patriots who saw the sky light up in the heat of battle as they fought to ensure liberty for all. It is our responsibility to continue to preserve and defend that great American liberty.
Happy Independence Day from the Republican Party of New Mexico!
