KenSchultz rsThis is to announce the passing of Kenneth Wallace Schultz (1950-2015), born in Pontiac, IL and graduate of Pontiac Township High School and a US Army veteran. He passed away due to complications from surgery.

He was a loving father and taught us how to shoot guns and arrows, change the oil, maintain our go-kart, computers, drumming, take things apart and fix them. A favorite memory was a jam session. I laid the rhythm on the drums as he shredded away on his guitar. Knowing I had him as my father will always make me happy and I'm proud to be his son, Terry.

When very young, he taught me how to reboot a DOS computer and why I am so tech savvy. He taught me how to wire stereos and calculate ohms, oil changes and stained glass art. He treated me like an adult since a very young age and I considered him a close friend once I became one. He was a kind person and I will miss him dearly but I'm grateful that he's no longer in pain. I love you Dad and I'll see you again, Dylan.

Ken spent years as the lead equipment driver for musical tours including Bad Company, the Moody Blues and Michael Bolton. After the road, he became a superb computer technician and web designer. He interests were many and he was continuously seeking to know more about everything. "A genius...it is his Fender "Kenny Built" strats that I have the honor of owning and playing. His special "knack" of putting super parts together and making a guitar is one of Ken's special gifts to me to this world." He had regular Friday music jam sessions, enjoyed card games with his friends, hiking in the Burro's, target practice and so much more. "Ken has a positive effect on many lives and those he touched, he helped." Easy going, nice, generous, a smile to beat all and kind words for everyone.

He is survived by his brother, D Franklin Schultz, Ph.D., son Terry W. Schulta and his wife Dr. Sarah Mele of Albuquerque; son G. Dylan Schul;tz of Albuquerque and his ex-wife and dear friend Lynne Schultz, Mimbres.

He was preceded in death by his sister Nicci Rae Schultz, his brother Kevin Michael Riffey, his mother, Bernadine Yvonne Riffey, step-father James Riffey, step-mother, Marilyn Schultz and his father, David F. Schultz. His family as well as an extended family of friends and relatives across the U.S. morn his passing. It is a great loss and he will be deeply missed and dearly remembered. "God Bless you Kenster, you wilddog and peace for your gentle soul."
