Florence Hopson rsFlorence "Flossie" Marian Hopson, 83, longtime resident of Silver City, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Silver City on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. Jeff Hopson will officiate. All friends and relatives are invited to a reception which will be held immediately after the service at Indian Hills Baptist Church, 2 Arroyo Seco Road in Silver City (across from Baca's).

Flossie was born in Holbrook, AZ to John and Helen Aimo on August 6, 1933. She was raised in Gallup and married Dr. John Hal Hopson on January 30, 1955. Flossie and Hal, with their two children, Sidney and Steve lived in Deming from 1959 to 1972 and moved to Silver City where they established a successful veterinary practice.

She is survived by her husband, Hal; brother, Joe (Nita) Aimo; 2 sons Sidney (Sheree) and Steve (Joyce); 2 grandsons, Joshua (Keisha) and Zachary; a great-grandchild, Mailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flossie was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, John and Barbara.
