lulu salazar rsLorraine "Lulu" Salazar, 69, lost her battle with her illness and has gone home to the Lord on Friday, July 7, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Lorraine was born in Silver City, NM to Ofelia Salazar.

Lorraine attended Silver High School in which she participated in Volleyball and was a Majorette. She attended Western New Mexico University and graduated with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Counseling.

She volunteered at the Gospel Mission before her illness took a toll on her. Lorraine loved tending to her garden, especially her herbs. For the last 25 years she tended to her mother whom she loved with all her heart. She was a very loving, giving, and compassionate person. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her Mom Ofelia Salazar, her loving cats, Sisco, Colonel, and Sisca, Aunts Rosie Pedraza, Mary Madrid, Goddaughters Yvonne Arzola and Diane Sanchez, Cousins Ramona (Rick) Munoz, Genaro (Priscilla) Pedraza Jr, Rosalie (Larry) Rios, Robert Pedraza, very special cousin Mario (Melva) Quintana, Very special friend Leona Ogas, and many friends whom she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Consuelo and Antonio Remigio, Uncles Charley Salazar and Alex Madrid Sr, Aunt Mary Helen Remigio, Cousins Alex (Sonny Boy) Madrid, Danny Ray Madrid, and David Madrid.

Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Bright Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Silver City, NM. Interment to follow at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mario Quintana, Antonio Garcia, Mario Garcia, Freddy Fernandez, Robert Pedraza, Roland Madrid and Leona Ogas.

Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, "Traditional Services and Care for your family and friends", 210 W. College Ave., Silver City, NM 575-388-1911.
