Debra Bruessel McReynolds, 65, of El Paso, TX unexpectedly left this world August 12, 2022. Debra was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Wood Bruessel, and her husband and longtime partner, Dale Marvin McReynolds. Debra was born in Wisconsin, the oldest of three children. She is survived by her daughter, Leeza Bruessel, her father Myron (Nancy) Bruessel, brother Brian (Trina) Bruessel, sister Candace (Mark) Morehouse and step-siblings Donald (Yvonne) Neudecker, DeeDee (Daniel) Benitez and Dianna (James) Alexander.
Debra most loved her pet cats, traveling and decorating dollhouses. She meticulously handcrafted many of the gifts she gave others. Debra and Marvin took several trips abroad; her favorite place was Paris. She loved to collect beautiful objects and works of art to the point that she didn’t have space to display it all!
Debra began working in the family business, Big A Auto Parts while in high school. She graduated college with a degree in English Literature and began a career that took her from the YWCA of El Paso to Western New Mexico University. Later in life she received her Master’s degree in Public Relations/Journalism from New Mexico State University. She was a prolific author who used the pseudonym Marva Dale to write over 15 books.
Arrangements were made by Terrazas Funeral Chapels to bring Debra back to Silver City for her final resting place. If you wish to honor Debra’s memory, please make a donation in her name to the Humane Society.
