LawyerEEvelyn Lawyer, 82, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, July 6, 2023 at her residence. She was born on September 6, 1940 to her parents, Sylvester Albert and Vermie Myrtle (Nugent) Vicknair in Alexandria, LA.

Evelyn was an amazing wife, mother Mamo, aunt friend and Teacher too many. Those who knew our mother knew that she loved everyone the best Evelyn always told the kids that she had been in fourth grade 23 years the kids thought that was great. Every single person she met adored her no one had anything bad to say about her. If you spent any time at all with Evelyn, you would learn some very unique songs and sayings Evelyn will be truly missed.

She is survived by her husband Richard Eugene Lawyer; her four daughters, Karla Lawyer Stroman (Bill) of Silver City, NM, Kelly Lawyer Franco (Orlando) of Silver City, NM, Katherine Lawyer Spears (Clay) of Las Cruces, NM, Ansley Enyart (Jason) of Magnolia, TX; her seven grandchildren, Devin (Vanessa) Stroman, Rodney (Tira) Franco, Dustin Franco, Kaitlyn (Brett) Hooper, Riley Pierson, Jordan Enyart, Hudson Enyart; her five great grandchildren, Vincent, Victoria, Vincent Rae, Memphis and Stockton; her numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her parents; her brother Henry Vicknair; her sister Ruby Westergard; her grandson Jayce Stroman; her dear friend, Nancy Stevens.



Visitation will be on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 9:00am-9:30am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Funeral service commencing at 9:30am with Pastor Joseph Gros officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00am at Fort Bayard National Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers are Devin Stroman, Rodney Franco, Dustin Franco, Kaitlyn Hooper, Riley Pierson, Daniel Ortiz.
