GandaraPPatricia “Patsy” Diaz Gandara, 70, a resident of Lordsburg, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Global Hospice Facility in El Paso, TX.  She was born on January 25, 1953 to Manuel P. Gandara and Thomasa D. Gandara. 

 One of nine siblings, family was very important to Patsy.  She is survived by sisters Magdalena “Nena” Cordova and husband Bill of Albuquerque; Yolanda Alaniz of Lordsburg; Victoria Gandara of Albuquerque; Angela Gandara and wife Bettina of Albuquerque; and Elizabeth “Lisa” DeWalt of Albuquerque; three brothers, Manuel Gandara and wife Shelly of Queen Creek, AZ, Miguel Gandara and wife Lydia of Friendswood, TX, and Raymond Diaz of Las Cruces.  She loved all of her eighteen nieces and nephews as her own and was brought so much joy by her eighteen great grand nieces and nephews.   

As an animal lover she had many pets and took in animals in need of a home when she was able. 

Patsy had a lifelong career (1972-2015) with Desert Samaritan/Banner Hospital in Mesa, AZ as a Pharmacy Tech, Supervisor, and Buyer.  She was very active in the Pharmacy Tech Association having served as both the President and Treasurer of her chapter.

 Patsy's strong faith in our Lord was exemplified in her work as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion (Our Lady of the Valley and St. Joseph) as well as in her dedication as a godmother.  She is fondly remembered as Nina Patsy by her godchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 2nd at 10-10:30am at St. Jospeh’s Catholic Church.  The holy rosary will commence at 10:30am with Carlos Bejarano reciting.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am with Father Jude Okonkwo officiating.  Concluding service and interment will follow at Shakespeare cemetery.  Pallbearers are Manuel and Antonio Martinez, Sergio and Phillip Cordova, Joe Chavez, Zane Emory, Florencio Medina, and Michael Heath.  Honorary Pallbearers are Miguel Gandara Jr., Enrique Gandara, and Andrea Alaniz.
