maesobit1 copySara Louise Maes, 60, a resident of Santa Clara, NM went into the arms of our Lord alongside her mother, Mary Lou Maynes, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 23, 1963 in Grants, NM to Leroy Maes and Mary Lou Ortega.

Sara was a devoted daughter, loving mother, caring sister and above all an amazing grandmother. She was a talented cook who was well known for her Mexican cuisine and baking. She loved her time at the Silver City Senior center where she was a cook. She would have fun gambling, fishing and attending bingos. She often showed her adoration for her family and loved ones. Her most enjoyed time was hanging out with her grandchildren and her companion. Her laugh and beauty will forever live on in her family's hearts.

She is survived by three sons, Manuel "Nano" Maynes and wife Monica of Bayard; Nasario Morales and wife Amber of San Antonio, TX; Samuel Maynes and wife Jennifer of Hurley; one daughter, Angela Maynes and husband Tim of Tucson, AZ; her companion, Ray Rodriguez; nineteen grandchildren, Kaileen, Noah, Miabella, Andrew, Anthony, Aujineah, Jaeda, Julisa, Samantha, Samuel, Brittany, Alazai, Celaysia, Arcadia, Malakai, Gabby. Jeremiah, Emanuel, and Eliana; two great grandchildren, Tarvars and Makavali; three brothers, Freddie Maes of Deming; Louie Maes of Phoenix, AZ; Eddie Maynes of Santa Clara; three sisters, Geraldine Maynes (Lalo) of St. Louis, MO; Rose Gonzales and husband Ray of Catalina, AZ; Dolores Maynes (Rod) of Bayard. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Lou Maynes.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6th from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to commence at 6pm with Deacon Richard Maynes reciting. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7th at 9am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Santa Clara cemetery. Pallbearers are Manuel and Samuel Maynes, Ray Rodriguez, Anthony Cabrera, Kaileen Maynes, Jaeda Maynes, Malakai Granillo, and Brittany Rodriguez.
