LuceroRossRoss Don Lucero, 75 of North Hurley and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away, Sunday, February 25, 2024 in El Paso, Texas.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at Eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at the Hurley Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in the family plot. Officiating will be Deacon Art Gutierrez. A Memorial Service for Ross will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, March 9, 2024 at His Place Ministries in Albuquerque, New Mexico located at 5505 Central Blvd NW. Ross’s brothers will officiate.

Honorary Pallbearers are Gabriel Lucero, Ross Lucero Jr., Randy De La O, Manny Saborio, Larry Aguilera, Crispin Fierro Jr., Matthew Gonzalez, and Anthony Gonzalez.

Ross was born June 7, 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jose Guadalupe and Juanita Lucero.  Ross worked for many years as a meatcutter at several different locations.  He was very well known for his card playing and dominoes, where he played to win.  He was very caring and loving toward his family and friends.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Natalia Saborio; two daughters, Veronica Saborio and Desiree De La O; four sons, Ross Lucero Jr, Gabriel M. Lucero, Nathan Martinez and Randy De La O; one sister, Mary Turrietta; four brothers, Flor (Lillian) Lucero, Pablo (Luggie) Lucero, Richard (Edna) Lucero and Joaquin Lucero all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren Marissa Alvarado, Noah Lucero, and Angel Lucero; SPECIAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS, Richard Lucero Jr, Manuel Saborio Jr, Louisa Sanchez, Leticia Gonzales, Darlene Garland, Anthony Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Ruben Rodriguez, and Crispin Fierro Jr.; sisters-in-law, Melinda Gonzales (Alfonso) and Rose Norero (George); and his brother-in-law, Crispin Fierro Sr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Juanita Lucero; stepfather, Manuel Gutierrez; daughter, Carmen Lee Lucero; grandson, Ross Lucero III; Brother and sister in-law, Manuel Sr and Beda Saborio; and sister-in-law Law, Patty Saborio.
