Felicitas N. Jimenez, 90, a resident of Silver City, NM

JimenezFFelicitas N. Jimenez, passed away as she slept peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born on September 2, 1932 in Pinos Altos, NM to Genaro and Juanita Jimenez.

From the onset of her life, she faced many difficult and physical limitations which restricted her; and was wheelchair bound throughout her lifetime. Despite this she was a living testament to those around her of a God-Given Grace unwavering Faith and acceptance to her Heavenly Father. She gave us great pleasure to see her express a childlike exuberance to Birthday and Holiday celebrations spent with close family. She was a communicant of St. Francis Newman Center and received communion at home made possible by Nancy Thomas.

She was lovingly cared for at her home by great nephew Brandon Fullen and his wife Adrianna.
She leaves behind a brother, Gabriel Jimenez (Maria). Also surviving her are five generations of nephews and nieces, too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, Genaro and Juanita Jimenez; her sisters, Connie Herron; Rosa Gomez; nephews, John Becerra, Andrew Davila, Sammy Diaz Herron, niece, Suzanna Georgia Walkins. Those who remained close to her in her remaining years, were truly blessed to have "Our Angel in Our Midst."

Written News Release, 500 years old, Silver City NM

obit for news release

I know that obituaries is not a good place to put this, but I know people check out obituaries.

I've been nice and posted Rules for Submissions to the Grant County Beat, but I continue to get pretty graphics instead of NEWS RELEASES.

I'm guessing that no one knows how to write a news release any longer. Pretty graphics have taken over, so here's a tutorial.

How to Create a News Release for the Grant County Beat
And Make the Editor Happy!

The Beat accepts text documents, either in text or in Microsoft Word.

Please use complete sentences, using proper grammar and spelling.

Don't forget the Who, What, Why, When and Where!

If the document is a photo, please make the format .jpg, at a minimum of 180 dpi and attach it separately from the document.

If you MUST send a pdf, make sure that it's one that we can copy and paste text out of, as well as be able to pull any photos that are part of the document.

Do not send scanned documents as PDFs. We cannot use text out of scanned documents. Please send us only original documents.

If we cannot pull the text and/or photos from a pdf flyer and, resizing it to a jpg at web size makes it too small to read, it will not be posted.
