Pete Lozano Salas, Jr., of Bayard, passed away January 29, 2024 in Bayard.
Pete was born June 30, 1969 in Silver City to Pete Salas and Theresa Gomez
Pete is survived by his parents, Manny and Theresa Garcia; three sons, Michael Ortega, Dominic Ortega and Anthony Salas; as well as three sisters, Martha Garcia, Barbara Salas and Michelle Carbajal.
At Pete’s request, cremation will take place and no services are scheduled at this time.

James Patrick Chavez, 57, Deming resident passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his residence.
Visitation will take place Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church from 9 to 10 o’clock in the morning, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited by Patsy Leyba at 10. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11 with Father Prakasham Babu officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the morning where Military Honors will be accorded. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
Olga M. Sera, 87, a resident of Deming, NM

Olga M. Sera, 87, lifelong Deming resident passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Olga was born September 16, 1936 in Hot Springs, NM, now known as T or C. Her parents were Natividad and Eduardo Medina.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 2, 2024 from 9 to 10 o’clock in the morning at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 10 led by Lucy Villegas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately thereafter at 10:30. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe Sera. Officiating will be Fr. Francis Gyau.
Olga was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She was devoted house wife and mother to her four children. Olga had tremendous faith following the words of God and implementing them to her family. Olga was dear to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She had many nieces and nephews loving them all unconditionally. Two special nieces whom she called her sisters, Stella Jasso, and Rosa Sanchez.
