Jane Margaret Nichols, 89, longtime Deming resident passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter Lisa and son in law Bob by her side on Monday, January 15, 2024.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Mountain View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Bill Nichols. Cremation has entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.
Jane was born February 22, 1934 in the Bronx, New York to Raymond Bonville and Mildred Thompson. She was a homemaker when she was raising her children. Once her children got older, Jane worked for the public school in California as an E.A for several years. After moving to Deming, she became a caregiver to Dr. Hossley and to Clarabelle Gore. In her younger days Jane enjoyed going to the gym and exercising. She loved sitting in her backyard watching the birds at the bird feeder. She also loved working in her garden. She loved animals, especially her two dogs Taffy and Willow. Jane was a very loving and caring mother to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved them dearly with all her heart.

Atocha O. Miranda, 71, Deming resident passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Visitation will take place at Baca’s Funeral Chapel on Thursday January 18, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the morning. Funeral Services will follow at 12 noon at Templo Nueva Vida with Pastor Isacc Corral officiating. The final interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Atocha was born August 27, 1952 in Peña Blanca, Chihuahua, Mexico to Antonia Beltran and Octavio Orona. She loved spending time with her family, listening to music, traveling, and shopping.
Atocha is survived by her mother Antonia Orona Beltran; her husband Jose Angel Miranda; 10 children Heriberto (Karla) Miranda, Jaime (Magda) Miranda, Claudia (Alonso) Gutierrez, Francisca (Hector) Ruiz, Ofelia (Tony) Pedraza, Miguel (Concepcion) Miranda, Marycela (Adan) Rincon, Diana (Mario) Miranda, Flor (Jesus) Cabrera and Vicente (Adriana) Miranda; 36 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and her siblings Olivia, Olga, Luz Elena, Blanca, Belen, Pepe, Marcos, and Ricardo.

Randall “Randy” Charles White, 74, an Army Veteran and resident of Truth or Consequences, NM, entered eternal rest Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at his residence. He was born on May 16, 1949 to his parents D.A. and Syble (Barris) White at Atoka, Oklahoma.
Randy was a (SP4) E4 in the US Army. He was assigned to guard the president. President Nixon at the time. He was proud of his commitment to his country. He retired from Freeport where he was a heavy equipment operator. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and taking 4-wheeler rides. Randy always had a smile on his face and always had a good story to tell. He would strike a conversation with anyone, anywhere. He will be deeply missed and loved.
He is survived by his son, Bradley C. White (Kelly) of Belen, NM; his brother Gordon White (Kathy) of Arenas Valley, NM; his sister, Joyce Sherrill of Atoka, OK; his two grandchildren, Randi White and Reece White. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Laney.

Cesario Cadena Maldonado, 78, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, January 13, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born December 20, 1945 in Silver City, NM to Leopoldo Maldonado and Manuela Cadena.
Cesario loved mechanic work. He enjoyed working on his old cars. He loved outdoors, being with his family either camping, fishing, and hunting. He was a jack of all trades growing up; from ranching, he loved showing what he knew to his family. He was a big joker and a well- loved man.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Gloria Maldonado of the family home; his son, Rudy Maldonado and wife Angela of Silver City; his daughter, Denise Maldonado and companion Eddie Carbajal of Silver City; six grandchildren, Richard Ferrell (Skye), Amber Ferrell (Anthony), Steven Huerta (Cassandra), Jeremy Huerta, Alayna Maldonado, and Reina Torres; six great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann Maldonado Montoya of Ponca City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Christina Maldonado Huerta; his brothers, Manuel, Epimenio, and Jesus “Chuy” Maldonado; his sisters, Helen Moreno, Ofelia Arellano, Lucinda Kirker, and Esther Knagge; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
