In case you were not aware, tomorrow is a national day of protest for the anti-Trump crowd. It is being titled 'No Kings' because they mistakenly believe that Donald Trump is acting like a monarch or a dictator. I have seen indications on social media that there will be protests in our town as well. We hope they will be peaceful, but we have already seen some of the same flyers and organizers of the LA riots becoming active in Albuquerque, Chicago, Houston, New York City and other places around our country.

You probably did not realize that when the LA riots were just starting there was a counter demonstration of Trump supporters. That demonstration was large, barely covered by the media, but was by definition truly peaceful. We hope that the demonstrations tomorrow by the left wing will be peaceful. If they are, the rest of us will gladly support their right to peacefully demonstrate no matter how much we disagree with their opinion. But you can bet that some of them will be violent just like the LA riots because that's what people are being paid to do. If you don't realize why or how or who is doing it, tune into my radio show tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM on 92.9 FM.

For those of you that are going to participate in the violent demonstrations the sheriff of Brevard County, Wayne Ivey, has a message for you. You have been forewarned. He says:

"if you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains. Because we will kill you graveyard dead. We're not going to play."

He certainly set the tone for how he and his department will view violent protesters.

" If you resist lawful orders, you're going to jail, let me be very clear about that. If you block an intersection or a roadway in Brevard County, you are going to jail. If you flee arrest, you're going to jail tired, because we will run you down and put you in jail. If you try to mob rule a car in Brevard County, gathering around it refusing to let the driver leave, you're most likely going to get run over and drug across the street."

I often comment on my radio show that stupid people don't utilize consequential thinking skills to identify the possible results of their actions. Sheriff Ivy and I must share the same sentiment, because he is making it very clear that there will be consequences to their actions and what those consequences will be.

" If you spit on us, you're going to the hospital and then jail. If you hit one of my officers, you're going to the hospital and then to jail. And most likely you will be bitten by one of our big beautiful dogs that we have here."

There are a lot of sheriffs like Wayne Ivey around this country. I hope they have the same intentions of dealing with violent protesters in the same way. I also know there is a growing sentiment among private property owners and individuals who may suffer harm because of the actions of these violent people. Many are ready to protect their property and their livelihoods along with the safety of themselves and their families.

I certainly hope it doesn't come to that, but we have just as much of a right to protect ourselves and our property as they have a right to peacefully demonstrate.
