There are so many things in our world today that make you go what the heck or on occasion laugh a little bit.

Too many people on both sides of the aisle have a closed mind. Just watch any man on the street interview or in interactions we might have with acquaintances with whom we disagree politically. Or even those with whom we agree. I have a social-media friend that generally can carry on a civil discourse but insists that women in America are dying because of back-alley abortions. Insists that more than 34 states have banned abortions. Not just to put limitations but ban them completely. When presented with documentation to the contrary obtained from pro-abortion websites such as Gutmacher, this person refuses to acknowledge that. When people are asked what rights some groups are losing, they cannot name one. Emotion guides their decision-making process.

I have a very interesting story about the emotional maturity of the left and right wings of our political system on Saturday's radio show which can be heard at 9:00 AM on 92.9 FM. It will help explain why the left is so angry. And proves scientifically why ignorance is not always blissful.

The reaction to those five famous and rich women going into space has been hilarious. There certainly are questions about whether or not they actually got into space from a technical standpoint. And people are questioning whether spending 5 minutes in space, if they did reach it, really makes you an astronaut. Here are some of their responses:
I walked across the campus of Harvard University, now I'm an attorney.
I blew out a candle yesterday. Being a firefighter is tough work
I walked past the cookbooks in Barnes and Noble. Now I'm Julia Childs.
I helped my first grader with her math homework. Now I'm Albert Einstein.
I looked up a couple of definitions in Webster's dictionary. Now I'm an author.

If you really need more proof that Democrat politicians don't care about you, They are willing to fly to a foreign country to meet with a known, certified, criminal member of one of the most dangerous gangs in the world to bring him back to the United States. All the while telling you that he is a legal immigrant, good husband, and father. Which is consistent with their support of people like George Floyd. I would bet that none of them would be happy if Abrego Garcia and his homies moved into their neighborhood.

I've been losing weight. A friend asked what my ideal weight would be? I'm thinking somewhere around being able to clip my toenails and breathe at the same time.

I am harmless. But I'll guarantee you if I walked into a woman's bathroom or locker room, someone would call the police and have me arrested. But if I put on a dress, it's OK? Isn't that a double standard?

If I disagree with the position of a political party for a politician, I am a bigot, homophobe, transphobe, racist, misogynist, or anyone of several other derogatory categories. If the left disagrees with someone's political statements or the politicians that we support, 55% say it's OK to kill them. 63% say it's OK to kill the CEO of a business that they believe is treating them unfairly. More than 80% believe it's OK to harass them and physically attack them in public. Have we changed the definition of tolerance? Did I miss that story?

Do not underestimate the support for Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Bernie Sanders. The number of people attending their rallies is overstated and it's quite likely some of them are being bussed into the states or cities where these are being held. They are very good at creating pictures that evoke emotional responses. Even though people know in their heart that what they're telling them is not true, that will bring people out to the polls in the midterms.

Make no mistake, Trump is not only targeting other countries with the tariffs, but he is also targeting companies that have outsourced manufacturing from the United States. To simplify the reason, think about this: a shoe company pays $10 a pair to have shoes manufactured in China. They then sell those shoes to American consumers for $100. A pretty nice profit. Understand why his tariffs on those shoes may not work to get the company to bring manufacturing back. A 25% tariff is on the $10 cost of the shoe, not the $100 retail price. The shoe company will do one of two things: absorb the $2.50 tariff leaving them with a profit of $87.50. Or they will hike the price of the shoe by $25 and blame Donald Trump. He understands that so watch for other actions to come.
