I know most of you like to be informed, but what I'm about to tell you won't change the mind of the left-wing meme brigade members. In Minnesota alone, ICE agents have 'recovered' 3364 of the unaccompanied minors that were brought across the border by people claiming to be their guardian or parent. Some were sold into sex trafficking, drug running. Many were found in the Somali community even though they were not Somali. Many were sold to families that treated them as slaves or were forced to work in 'legitimate' businesses in that community. The abuse was shocking. But let's go ahead and defund ICE.

Members of Congress are outraged that Pam Bondi had the DOJ monitor their access to the unredacted copies of the Epstein files. Here's one of the reasons why. Ro Khana and Thomas Massie stood on the floor of the House and began naming names. Clearly stating, not inferring that everyone named was involved in all of the horrible atrocities that occurred. Four of the names they revealed had nothing to do with Epstein. They were people pulled off the street for a police lineup. Congress did exactly what Bondi said was going to happen.

More great economic news, inflation is at 2.4% beating market expectations. Month over month inflation was .2%, another beat. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, was 2.5% which is the lowest since March 2021, before Biden's inflation began to take its toll. Wage growth outpaced inflation, giving the average consumer $1400 more in buying power. I am in Albuquerque, and you'd might want to sit down for this one; gas is $2.09 a gallon in many places, $2.19 credit price. The highest price I've seen is $2.34 a gallon. I'm sure that upsets our Governor.

I'm sure most of you didn't see much about El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele's visit to the United States. His speech at the National Prayer breakfast was quite good. El Salvador was the known as the murder and crime capital of the world. People not only lived in fear but abject poverty. Everything was broken. Now, the picture has flipped. As kids walked to school on streets that have been repaired and are safe, their backpacks contain laptops with all manner of software loaded; crayons, paper, pens, and everything else they need. The schools are newly remodeled, and the electricity and water are always on. It is an amazing turn around and the economy is also booming. The government has paid for everything without raising taxes. In fact, they are looking at lowering taxes. How did they still pay for the schools, infrastructure repair, good salaries for teachers, police, and others? By eliminating graft and corruption in government. There was always enough money to pay for everything, but government officials lined their pockets through direct bribes or creating fake businesses that received government contracts but did little if any work. Maybe there's a lesson we can learn?

This is why we need to get rid of the TV and billboard attorneys. Stacy and Jeff Mankoff's 10,000 square-foot Dallas home was destroyed by a tornado in 2021. They had insurance, but the windstorm deductible was 2%, which for them meant they had to pay about $87,000. You would think if your home was worth in excess of $4 million, you'd be able to do that. They sued their insurance company claiming a tornado was not a windstorm. If they were correct, their base deductible would have applied, saving them more than $50,000. Their attorney claimed a tornado does not meet the definition of a windstorm since it was raining at the time. The wind was incidental to the storm. Despite the Webster's definition and prior case law establishing tornados are windstorms, the case wound through the courts over a 5-year stretch. The TX Supreme Court ruled against the plaintiffs saying what you and I already know; the wind damaged their home. Not the rain or the lightening or the scary clouds. Wind. PURE insurance had to pay attorneys and expert witnesses millions of dollars to defend this case. Even if the judge upholds the law and awards PURE legal fees to be paid by Stacy and Jeff, it's unlikely they will ever collect that money. The policyholders get stuck with the bill. NM is even worse. Why do you think so many firms from outside the state set up offices in NM? Because they can make money.
