August 22, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street - “Famous Women of New Mexico”
Claire Shawhan will lead us in discovering the stories of lesser known, yet still notorious women from New Mexico. Shawhan will share the stories of three women, two of them being women of color. One was a local resident and was considered infamous by some Silver City residents.
Through use of dramatic art and storytelling, Shawhan will explore the lives of these notable New Mexican women. Ms. Shawhan is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Las Cruces and frequents the UUFSC when she stays at her summer place in the Burros.
Masks are encouraged in the building, and there is seating outside on the patio. If you are unvaccinated, for the protection of others please practice social distancing and wear a mask except when eating or drinking.
There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are always welcome.
