31st Annual Lighted Christmas Parade and More!
|Saturday, November 27, 2021, 07:00pm
The 31st Annual Lighted Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 7 pm in downtown Silver City. The parade will start at Broadway and Cooper Streets and travel east to Bullard Street and north to College, ending on Pope Street. Judging this year will be held at Chente’s Taqueria at 600 N. Bullard St.
This year the Silver Chorale will add holiday cheer with Christmas carols starting downtown at 4:30 pm. Silver Chorale director Bryce Wooten said members, Sherry Wooten, Gaye Rock, himself and Doug Medin will sing throughout downtown, starting at Morning Star, then move near Adobe Springs, on to Kris’s Unique Boutique, then to the new parklet at the corner of Yankie and Texas Streets and finally near Light Art Space on Broadway. At each location the chorale will sing for about 20 minutes.
November 27 is also Small Business Saturday, an annual holiday shopping tradition sponsored by American Express. Purchasing locally from small independent businesses makes our community vibrant and resilient. When a dollar is spent locally, that dollar turns over almost four times more in our community. Look for the Love Local signs in 35 participating downtown merchants that are offering deals, discounts and free drawings. It’s also a GRT tax holiday.
