National Archaeology Day at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site

Join the Grant County Archaeological Society and the Imogen F. Wilson Education Foundation volunteers for a celebration of the history of the Mimbres Valley. We will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
- Kick off the morning with Cowboy Coffee and biscuits
- Tour of the Mattocks site at 10 am. The trail is easy walking but be prepared for weather changes.
- On- going activities available include corn grinding, bullroarer whirling and painting Mimbres images, and old fashioned games
- Demonstrations of hide tanning and yucca processing
- 1 pm, storytelling of the “Murder on the Mimbres” Raffle for a load of firewoodLunch available for a fee
- Museum, gift shop and restored Dr. Granville Wood office open
