Rotary Assembly

Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Rotary will have a club assembly. In addition, Karen Beckenbach, President of the Grant County Concert Association will make a brief presentation to the Rotary Club to talk about the free concert on May 21, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Bataan Memorial Park in Bayard. The First Armored Division Band will present “As Time Goes By”, a concert telling the story of the First Armored Division. 

Also, the Silver City Rotary Club had nominated The Tranquil Buzz, a Silver City coffee house, owned by Dale Rucklos and Renya Craig, for the Rotary District’s Sonny Brown Small Business of the Year award. Businesses are nominated for this award by clubs throughout Rotary District 5520 (New Mexico and West Texas) based on their record of community service and other criteria. The Tranquil Buzz, the district-wide winner chosen by the Rotary District selection committee, will receive the award at the District Conference in Roswell, NM, on April 21. The local club reports that Rucklos is expected to attend the Rotary Club meeting on April 25, to be recognized locally for this achievement.

Rotary meets every Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 pm. The meeting on the April 25 will be at the Silver Bowling Center, 2020 Memory Lane, in the 10th Frame Lounge. The meeting is free and open to the public.
