After an almost 3-hour morning regular meeting, Grant County commissioners took a lunch break and then went into an almost two-hour executive session, where they discussed personnel matters referring to the upcoming retirement of County Manager Charlene Webb.
The commissioners approved coming out of executive session, and District 1 Commissioner and Chair Chris Ponce said: "So going into the next item will be an action necessary as a result of the executive session.
"Commission members, I'd like to make a motion to offer Andrea Montoya the interim county manager's position starting Sunday, the 25th of this month, for the amount of $130,000, with the expectation that she continue to do her existing duties and continue with the duties of a county manager, until this commission moves forward and decides on a permanent county manager. Second by Commissioner (Eddie). Do we have any discussion? Seeing none, all those in favor?"
All five commissioners voted Aye and the motion carried. With no other action the meeting adjourned.
