Gila Community Foundation Announces Recipients of Southline Community Investment Program (SCIP) Spring Grant Cycle
July 21, 2026 – Silver City, NM

The Gila Community Foundation (GCF) is proud to announce the completion of the spring 2026 Southline Community Investment Program (SCIP) grant cycle.

More than 40 nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations from Hidalgo, Grant, Luna, and Doña Ana counties applied, requesting over $321,000.00 in total funding to support critical community needs.

“Having the ability to once again support the organizations serving our community is something the Gila Community Foundation is extremely proud of,” said Jamie Sechrist, Executive Director of the Gila Community Foundation. “Seeing the impact from the last grant cycle, we look forward to launching the next round in the fall.”

The grant awards for this cycle are as follows:

Deming Luna County MainStreet Program, Inc $10,000.00

SCIP Advisory Committee Leadership
The Southline Community Investment Program (SCIP) Advisory Committee, composed of community representatives from Grant, Luna, Hidalgo and Doña Ana counties, leads the review and selection process. Neither Southline Transmission Project nor its co-developers, Grid United and Black Forest Partners, determine grant recipients.

GCF and SCIP extend sincere gratitude to each committee member for their thoughtful, thorough, and dedicated service in guiding this important regional investment.

With ongoing partnership from SCIP, GCF will administer another grant cycle in fall of 2026. Eligible applicants include non-profit, municipal, and county-level organizations serving one or more of the host counties: Hidalgo, Grant, Luna, and Doña Ana.
