Come and Share Your Vision for the Future of Fort Bayard!
Silver City, NM - The Fort Bayard Revitalization Plan is a comprehensive effort to preserve and enhance the historic Fort Bayard site, ensuring it remains a valued cultural and economic resource for the region. The plan incorporates extensive community input to guide recommendations for the site's future development.
The local community is invited to attend the third and final public meeting for the Fort Bayard Revitalization Plan, an important milestone in shaping the future of this historic site. This final meeting is an opportunity to ensure the vision for Fort Bayard reflects the values, needs, and aspirations of the people it serves.
The project is being carried out in three phases. Phase 1, Discovery, analyzes existing conditions and engaged stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities. Phase 2, Visioning, evaluates market trends and established priorities for land use, mobility, and placemaking. Phase 3, Plan and Adoption, focuses on developing strategies, policies, and investment frameworks, incorporating community feedback to refine design concepts and finalize the plan for adoption. The project is currently in the last stage of Phase 2, developing the conceptual design with the community.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce & Conference Center (Archery Room).
This meeting will provide attendees with an opportunity to review the proposed master plan concept for Fort Bayard and see how community feedback from previous meetings has directly influenced the plan. Participants are encouraged to share their input and help shape the plan before the Revitalization Plan is completed.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend and participate. Please share this invitation with friends, family, and neighbors - we want to hear from you!
