Fort Bayard and Upper Mimbres volunteer fire departments

Monday, Apr. 13

Structure fire
49 Chamisa Road – Mimbres
Second caller advised a mobile home is on fire across from 28 Chamisa/power is out. Third caller advised her neighbor's house is on fire and the power is out. Fourth caller advised the fire doubled in size/they cannot see anyone. Fifth caller advised they are talking to the homeowner/she is okay and out of the house/they think the fire started in the horse barn. Sixth caller advised they can see the smoke from their house/fire is at 49 Chamisa. 7th and 8th callers advised of the fire. Ninth caller advised the fire is growing. Upper Mimbres VFD paged Lower Mimbres and Santa Rita VFDs.

204 Gold Street
A named male has a large fire in the middle of Gold Street/believes someone told him to put it out/appears to be putting it out now.. Attack 1 requests LE. Attack 1 cancels LE. Male called stating he was going to cook food and melt silver and gold. SCPD officer back out with fire.

Friday, Apr. 17

Fire, other
45 Western Drive
Caller advised residents started burning about 15 minutes ago/believes they are burning trash. Tyrone VFD was paged. Caller called back advising the fire has been put out. E11 will still be en route to see if they can find it.

Brush fire
2030 N. Silver Street
Brush fire close to the residence/caller advised he was burning cottonwood and it got away from him/everyone is out of the house/fire is now away from the house/about 100 feet fire/flames are not very tall/tallest is five feet. E11 on scene advising small grass fire/less than an acre/minimal fire activity/fire is contained/mopping up/will be tied up on this for a while/page in off shift.

Neighbor having a fire in the backyard/cannot tell if it's in a fire pit/can only smell it, see the smoke, and the glare on their house.

11801 Highway 180
Caller advised a fire ring is behind his neighbor's house and he wants LE to go speak with him in reference to fire restrictions/advised the fire is in a fire pit. Caller does not want contact.
