Silver City, NM, June 28, 2026---PFLAG Silver City invites members of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to march with PFLAG and LGBTQ Grant County in the July 4th parade. The parade begins at 10:00 AM, and floats and walking groups will be lining up along 12th St. starting at 9:00 AM or before. Marchers are encouraged to dress for hot, sunny weather---wear sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and good walking shoes. Bottled water will be provided for marchers.
A PFLAG spokesperson said, "Numbers matter, and it would be so inspiring to see a large number of people march with us on Independence Day. We will have a pickup truck to sit in for those who can't walk the entire route. We don't yet know our parade entry number, so look for the rainbows. And if you're in the audience, please jump in and march with us for a couple of blocks; then you can return to your family and friends to watch the rest of the parade. Silver City is a welcoming place for all, and it's important that residents and visitors know that."
PFLAG is the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. For more information, call 575-590-8797 or go to www.pflagsilver.org or www.pflag.org.
