Submission Deadline: August 15, 2026
Festival: October 1 - 4, 2026
SILVER CITY, NM — The Silver City MainStreet Project and Silco Theater are excited to announce the Third Annual Silver City Community Film Festival, taking place October 1 - 4, 2026, at the Silco Theater in downtown Silver City.
The geographic boundaries for film submissions include El Paso to Tucson, from east to west, and Albuquerque to Chihuahua, from north to south. The Silver City Community Film Festival welcomes the diversity of this Southwest Crossroads region in an intimate yet powerful festival, highlighting the talented filmmakers of this area and providing opportunities for valuable connections and collaborations.
"Sometimes creativity just needs a little nudge," said Nan Chalat Noaker, two-time participant in The Silver City Community Film Festival. "For me, the Silver City Film Festival's call for submissions has been a catalyst for turning my story ideas into short animated videos. And, as a novice filmmaker, I have really enjoyed the festival's emphasis on highlighting the local community. Also, the festival's platform for submitting — Film Freeway — is easy to use and offers places to add promotional images, director statements, cast bios etc. It's just like having your own publicist!"
The Silver City Community Film Festival accepts submissions in all genres and forms of filmmaking, and encourages the spirit of the wild frontier. Awards will be granted in submission categories, as well as an audience choice award.
Films may be individual projects or group collaborations, and multiple entries may be submitted by one person. The deadline for submissions is August 15.
