Join the "We the People- All the People" rally on Saturday, March 28th at Gough Park in Silver City. The rally organized by Silver City Indivisible in collaboration with other local social justice groups, coincides with the March 28th No Kings III non-violent protests happening across the country.
The rally will feature speakers, musicians, poets, Giant Puppets and inflatable Frogs. The focus of the rally is a defense of Democracy, protection of human rights, and sustained effort to resist perceived authoritarian actions.
On March 28th participants will gather at one of four locations at noon and march together to Gough Park where the rally begins at 1 P.M. Each location has a theme:
The Commons - 501 E. 13rd Street – A silent march with the theme "No War"
Murray Ryan Visitor's Center – 201 N. Hudson (corner of Broadway) "Signs of Fascism"
WNMU Mustang Plaza – West College Street – "Children and Queer Folk"
Watts Hall (corner of Hwy 180 and Swan) – Racism and Immigration
If you prefer not to march, gather at Gough Park at 1 PM to hear music, speakers, poets. Bring a folding chair, water bottles, snacks and sunscreen – dress for the weather.
Indivisible will have trained Peacekeepers present to ensure a peaceful, lawful, and non-violent event.
In 2025 Silver City Indivisible organized three peaceful protest rallies: "Hands Off "in April; No Kings I" in June; and "no Kings II" in October. Each rally was well attended, with the largest attendance in October with approximately 800 people; organizers are anticipating up to 1000 people at the upcoming March 28th event.
Last October 18th an estimated 7 million Americans came together in organized non-violent protests. Nationally, the March 28th mobilization is expected to exceed that, as citizens gather to affirm that the U.S. is not ruled by a king, challenging the expansion of executive power and demanding accountability for immigration enforcement actions, and protest administration policies on immigration, healthcare, and the environment.
