Elaine Torres

June 17, 1956 – September 22, 2026

Elaine Torres, 70, of Phoenix, Arizona, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at John C. Lincoln Medical Center. She was surrounded by the love of her family, with her daughters Loren and Monica, her grandson Isaac, her sisters Patricia "Patty" and Annette, and other loving family members by her side.

Born on June 17, 1956, in Silver City, New Mexico, to Cruz A. Torres and Lillian (Carrasco) Torres, Elaine was the eldest of their four children. She was a longtime resident of Mesa, Arizona. A proud veteran, she completed her service in the United States Navy in 1975 and later served in the Army Reserve.

Elaine was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. Those who knew her remember her bright spirit, infectious laugh, and deep love of singing. Her family will forever miss the sound of her voice and the vibrant joy she brought into every room. Devoted to her Catholic faith, Elaine lovingly taught her children their prayers and how to pray the rosary. She often said, "The things I do for love"—words her family will hold close as they remember the many ways she loved them.

Elaine is survived by her mother, Lillian (Carrasco) Torres of Fort Bayard, New Mexico; her eldest daughter, Loren (Darcy) Mendoza of Phoenix, Arizona, and their six children, Isaac, Noah, Liliana, Brittney, Valerie, and Sophia; her son, Gabriel "Gabe" (Amelia) Weintraub of Centennial, Colorado, and their children, Asher, Zara, and Kira; and her daughter, Monica Weintraub (Brendan Gibson) of Phoenix, Arizona, and their little dog, Carl.

She is also survived by her sister Patricia "Patty" (Salvador "Sal" Jr.) Sepulveda of Bayard, New Mexico; her sister Annette (Lou) Provencio of Gilbert, Arizona; her nieces and nephews, Robert "Bobby" Cruz Torres, Deserae Torres, Samiha Sepulveda, Salvador "Sal" Sepulveda III, Candice Delgado, and Brandi Ortiz; as well as many loving cousins and extended family.

Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Cruz A. Torres; her brother, Robert "Bobby" Torres; and her beloved aunt, Elvira "Evy" Montes, who entered eternal life on September 20, 2026, just two days before Elaine. Her family takes comfort in imagining them reunited once again.

Elaine's laugh, her songs, her faith, and her unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family invites everyone who knew and loved her to share a favorite memory of Elaine.
