Joshua "Josh" Leslie Degen Perez, 41, entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 24, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1984, to Marlin Degan and Frances Perez. A deeply loved son, family man, and devoted friend, is leaving behind a legacy of selflessness, resilience, and faith.
Josh was, above all, a good guy with a massive heart. He was a remarkably hard worker who faced life's challenges head-on. Even during times of personal struggle, Josh possessed the rare gift of resilience; he always carried a warm, genuine smile that could light up any room and lift the spirits of those around him.
A man of profound faith, Josh had a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He found community, fellowship, and spiritual home at Cross Point, where he regularly attended. His faith wasn't just something he practiced on Sundays—it was reflected in how he lived his life. Josh had a passion for outreach, consistently sacrificing his own time and resources to help anyone in need. Whether he knew you for years or had just met you, if you needed a helping hand, Josh was there to offer it without hesitation.
When he wasn't helping others, Josh loved spending time immersed in the beauty of nature. He was also an avid sports fan who never missed the excitement of watching UFC fights and boxing matches, passions he loved sharing with his friends and family.
Josh was a truly special friend and a fiercely loyal family man. He loved his family deeply, and his presence will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, his sacrifices, and that unforgettable smile will live on in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his father Marlin Degan and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Francis Perez, and a brother Damian Perez.
