Kevin Ortega, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Friday, March 20, 2026, in El Paso, Texas.
Kevin graduated from Silver High School in 2013. He was employed at Chino SX. He had a very big heart and was always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed working, especially to be able to enjoy his SXS, 4-wheeler, and of course we cannot forget his truck and his car, which was his baby. He enjoyed traveling, working on cars, and spending time with friends, family and his girlfriend, especially during family gatherings at the ranch. He loved the Raiders, working on his bucket list, outdoors, hunting, and fishing with his father, family, and friends.
He enjoyed working out as he maintained his appearance, as he always had to look the sharpest. When Kevin was home, he enjoyed playing video games and was quite competitive when competing against his brothers and Ron. He would always joke around, even in serious situations. He loved spending time with his nephews and nieces and God daughters, Eilicia & Alina Ortega. Kevin did not waste any time as he lived life to the fullest.
He is survived by his mother Sylvia Ortega, of Silver City, NM; girlfriend Jame Fetty, of Hanover, NM; his brothers Eric Ortega, Zach Ortega, both from Silver City, NM; his sisters, Leslie Romo (Jason Mathis) of Bayard, NM, Mishay Ortega, of Albuquerque, NM, and Jocelyn Ortega (Sid Hasley) of Silver City, NM; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his father Estevan Ortega.
Viewing will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Terrazas Funeral Chapel, Santa Clara, NM at 5:00PM. The holy rosary recited by Deacon Bill Holguin will follow at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Gregorio Catholic Church, Chiz, NM at 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers: Jason Mathis, Eric Ortega, Zach Munoz, Sid Hasley, Ben Abeyta, Ron Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are Alonso Romo, Jacob Romo, Junie Ortega, Reymi Ortega, Estevan Ortega "Brad".
