Margaret Anne Jayne, 89, a resident of Denton, TX entered eternal rest Thursday, February 19, 2026. She was born January 28, 1937 in Grand Junction, CO to the late Anna Theresa Blohm Jayne and John Whitaker Jayne.
She attended Fruitvale High School, graduating in 1955 from West High School in Denver, CO. After graduation she held secretarial aide and secretary positions. Margaret went to work for The Department of Energy in Grand Junction in 1960 as a secretary and transferred to Denver, CO in 1963 to The Atomic Energy Commission. She later transferred to Fort Worth Texas Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1974, where she held the position of Secretary to the Administrator, at retirement. Margaret retired from the Federal Government in 1988. She had worked from 1960-1988, twenty-eight years and was honored by co-workers and The National Retired Employee Association.
She enjoyed traveling with church groups and friends that included nice trip to England in 1974. She modeled clothes for various group and helped with volunteer work. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years. She played the accordion, bowled, crocheted, tatted, knitted sewed her own clothing and she loved to cook and dance and painted in oils. She loved "sayings" and collected them such as, "the only way he gets any place is to stick his neck out," with a picture of Mr. Turtle. She liked turtles.
Margaret's last days were spent in Nursing care as was her wish. Her cremains will be interred in her own private grave within steps of family at the Masonic cemetery in Silver City, NM. On Saturday, March 28th at 10 am.
A Celebration of Life luncheon was held for Margaret on the 4th of March in Arlington, TX, by co-workers and best friend of 48 years and was very much appreciated.
