Olivia Lobato Camarena, 55, a resident of Deming entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Olivia Lobato was born in San Agustín del Pulque (La Noria), Michoacán, Mexico to Valente Lobato and Cristina Camarena. From a young age, she was a person with a special charisma; she had the gift of making friends with everyone. In 1992, she arrived in the United States, she lived in Uvas Valley, New Mexico, and in 1996 moved to Deming, where she lived until her death. She has left a great void, as she was well-known for selling her red and green tamales, and the joy she shared with everyone. Olivia left a great legacy of compassion. She had a huge heart and never hesitated to help others. Today, Deming mourns the loss of a great human being. Rest in peace, Olivia Lobato. December 25, 1970 - March 16, 2026
She is survived by her children Javier Lobato, Luis (Esmeralda) Mendoza, Gloria (Juan) Lobato, Edith Moran, Juilo Moran, and Francsico Moran; her parents, Valente Lobato and Cristina Camarena; her 8 grandchildren and 7 of her siblings. Olivia was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jesus "Chuy" Aguilar and her best friend, Gloria Chavez.
A wake will be held at the Lobato Family Home (2120 S. Tin St. Deming, NM 88030) on Friday, March 20, 2026, beginning at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 8:45 A.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church followed by the rite of committal and interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Tony Basso will be officiating.
Serving as Olivia's pallbearers for the funeral mass will be Celestino Lobato, Clemente Lobato, Eduardo Lobato, Vicente Lobato, Simplicio Lobato, and Arquimedes Moran. Her 6 children will receive the final honor to carry their mother to her final place of rest at Mountain View Cemetery.

Olivia Lobato nació en San Agustín del Pulque (La Noria), Michoacán, México, hija de Valente Lobato y Cristina Camarena. Desde joven, poseía un carisma especial; tenía el don de hacer amigos con facilidad. En 1992, llegó a Estados Unidos, vivió en Uvas Valley, Nuevo México, y en 1996 se mudó a Deming, donde residió hasta su fallecimiento. Su partida deja un gran vacío, ya que era muy conocida por vender sus tamales rojos y verdes, y por la alegría que compartía con todos. Olivia dejó un gran legado de compasión. Tenía un corazón enorme y siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a los demás. Hoy, Deming lamenta la pérdida de un gran ser humano. El velorio se llevará a cabo en la Casa de la Familia Lobato (2120 S. Tin St., Deming, NM 88030) el viernes 20 de marzo de 2026, a partir de las 4 de la tarde. La Misa de cuerpo presente se celebrará el sábado 21 de marzo de 2026, a las 8:45 de la mañana. En la Iglesia Católica Santa Ana, seguida del entierro en el Cementerio Vista de la Montaña. El Padre Tony Basso oficiará la ceremonia.
Los portadores del féretro de Olivia serán Celestino Lobato, Clemente Lobato, Eduardo Lobato, Vicente Lobato, Simplicio Lobato y Arquimedes Moran. Sus seis hijos tendrán el honor de llevar a su madre a su última morada en el Cementerio Vista de la Montaña.
