The Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium (TBDC) a volunteer advocacy organization that has been working with local communities, Congressional Representatives and State Legislators to bring attention to the negative health effects resultant of the atomic bomb that was detonated at the Trinity Site in South Central New Mexico, are organizing a peaceful demonstration at the Stallion Range Gate entrance to White Sands Missile Range.  The demonstration is set to coincide with the one day each year that the Trinity Site is open to the public.  This year the date is October 17, 2026.

The Stallion Range Gate is East of San Antonio on Highway 380.   Organizers plan to meet and remain at the Stallion Range Gate at 9:00 am until 2:00 p.m. They will not be entering the site.  Please bring your own snacks, water, sunscreen, chairs, and posters.

Organizers will be providing the public with important information about applying for the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA), and their work to bring justice to the people of New Mexico.  We're inviting everyone who has been affected, who has had a family member that's been affected, or who has an interest in the issue to attend.

The Trinity Site has always been a major tourist attraction and somewhere between 6-8 thousand people enter the Site annually.  The US Government has always described the area as remote and uninhabited but we know that is not accurate and when we greet visitors, we tell them about our lived history as Downwinders.
